Dancing Jazz Poster

Charmain Bailey was born in the beautiful Carribean Island of Antigua. She was introduced to the world of jazz at 17 and promptly established a career as a vocal performer in that genre. She worked throughout the Carribean Islands with local notables such as Courtenay Wynter, Terry Lewis, Ricky McIntosh and Lee Williams. In 1995, after being crowned Ms. Antigua and Mrs. Jaycees Caribbean Queen, she got the opportunity to record her first single — a remake of Billie Holliday's "God Bless the Child".

Charmain migrated to Canada in 1997 and settled in London, Ontario. She became the lead vocalist and second percussionist for "Jade Idols", who in 1998 recorded a self–titled album. Jade Idols disbanded in 200 and as each member pursued individual projects, Charmain returned to jazz, doing intimate venues, charities, corporate events and the occasional festival.
